Lumigami

Winner of the HRI Student Competition 2019

First Place in the Human and Robot Interaction Student Competition, Daegu SouthKorea 2019. And honorary guest of Design Week Mexico 2019 - Inédito.

Lumigami is an interactive lamp that can be adapted by the user in order to create different room atmospheres by changing light conditions according to the user’s necessities. It creates a responsive communication between man and machine, by letting the user manipulate the mechanical dimmer with intuitive hand actions, opening up different interactive experiences for light spaces. It expands the style of modern geometric lamps by incorporating traditional origami and interactive design, to explore gestuality as a new way to relate with day to day objects.

The team consisted of Constantino Brito designing the mechanism, lead product designer and programming consultant, Regina Vargas in product design, assembly and quality control and myself as a lead programmer, electrical system designer and interaction designer.
